Tom Cruise says girlfriend Katie Holmes “digs” the Church of Scientology.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Cruise says the 26-year-old “Batman Begins” actress is curious about Scientology, founded by L. Ron Hubbard.
“Yes, absolutely. She digs it,” Cruise tells the magazine.
When asked if he has become more passionate about Scientology, Cruise says: “I’ve always been passionate about it. I’ve always talked about it when people asked about it.”
He also confirmed there was a Scientology massage tent on the set of his upcoming film “War of the Worlds.” “I also had a cappuccino tent on that set,” says Cruise, 42. “And I made sure the crews were fed well, too. And if someone wanted an assist from a (Scientology) volunteer, it was there for them.”
In an EW.com poll, 61 percent of respondents said they liked Cruise less after the recent exhaustive attention to his personal life, 3 percent said they liked him more, and 36 percent said their viewpoint of the “Top Gun” star hadn’t changed.
Britney Spears has a parting gift for fans of her UPN reality show: the world premiere of the video for her new single, “Someday (I Will Understand).”
The video will be shown during the one- hour series finale of “Britney and Kevin: Chaotic” on Tuesday night.
“Chaotic” has featured the courtship, engagement and wedding of Spears and Kevin Federline through home videos, shot mostly by the couple.
In the finale, titled “Veil of Secrecy,” Spears and Federline reveal how they kept their wedding plans under wraps, surprising even their family and closest friends in September with the private ceremony in Studio City, Calif.

Late-night television king Johnny Carson now has a department at his alma mater named after him.
The University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s department of theater arts is now called the Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film.
Carson, who hosted “The Tonight Show” for 30 years, approved of the name change before he died in January at age 79.
The legendary talk-show host donated $5.3 million to the school in November.

Former U.S. Attorney General Janet Reno, driving her famous red pickup, rear-ended another vehicle while driving in the Florida Keys, the state patrol said.
The front of Reno’s truck crashed into the back of a car that had stopped at a red light Friday, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
No injuries were reported.
Reno did not return phone calls seeking comment.
