The singer left his $500 cellphone at the Cuban eatery Brisa Atlantica in Delray Beach, Fla., on May 29, where busboy Jason Martin found it. The phone’s memory card had numbers for Presidents Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter, former Vice President Al Gore, George Clooney, Harrison Ford, Michael Douglas and Bill Gates, The Palm Beach Post reported. Then the Secret Service got involved. A police report said Clinton received several crank calls from the cellphone. Buffett offered a $200 reward, but Martin refused. Bad move. Buffett called the restaurant owner, Israel Torres, who fired Martin and called police.

A dinner of fish and chips cost an aspiring Scottish filmmaker a chance to talk to Kevin Spacey.

Bryan Larkin had entered his short film “Reflections of a Life” in a competition set up by Spacey and Billy Bob Thornton. Larkin’s film was one of 10 winners from among 14,000 entrants, contactmusic.com reported.

When Spacey made the congratulatory call, Larkin was out and father Frank took the message. Bryan Larkin said, “I went out to get something to eat, and when I came back my dad told me some American called Kevin had called. ”
