Who: Larry McQuinn of Highlands Ranch

Where: The Blue Lagoon, Iceland

Out and about: As a member of a Jesus Film Project team, I spent two week in Iceland meeting people all over the island and setting up showings of the film. The trip was spiritually rewarding, and, as a bonus, I got to see some of the most spectacular scenery on Earth. With glaciers and icebergs combined with lava fields, spectacular waterfalls, whaling villages, geysers, bubbling mud pits, green meadows, and reindeer – this place has it all! Snowmobiling on Europe’s largest glacier was a blast, and we ended our trip relaxing in the world-famous Blue Lagoon, the most visited tourist attraction in Iceland. The Blue Lagoon is a natural geothermal pool surrounded by a lava field and black, sandy beaches.

Travel tip: The Blue Lagoon is easily accessible and only 40 minutes from Reykjavik and 20 minutes from Keflavik International Airport. Icelanders love to swim and almost every town had its own indoor and/

or outdoor swimming facilities. Swimming is a part of the school curriculum, and every Icelander is required by law to learn to swim. Speedo sells more swimsuits per capita in Iceland than any place in the world.
