Free music in Snowmass
The Snowmass Summer of Free Music Series has announced it 2005 lineup. Concerts begin at 6 p.m. on Thursdays on Fanny Hill.
The varied music styles include Buckwheat Zydeco on June 30, Shelby Lynne on July 7, Tony Furtado on July 14, virtuoso guitarist Jesse Cook on July 21 and Issa Bagayogo on July 28. John Mooney performs on Aug. 4, The Subdudes on Aug. 11, blues phenom Jackie Greene on Aug. 18, and Chubby Carrier and the Bayou Swamp Band finish the series on Aug. 25. July 4 festivities in Estes Park
Celebrating the Fourth of July in Estes Park means enjoying a horse show, a classic and antique auto show, children’s theater production, fireworks and several free concerts. The Arabian Horse Championships begin at 9 a.m. July 2-4 at Stanley Park Fairgrounds. Admission is free. For information, call 970-586-6104. From 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. July 4, cars that are at least 30 years old will be on display in Bond Park downtown.
From June 30 to July 3, a musical adaptation of The Hobbit will be presented as a children’s production for children at the Estes Park High School Auditorium.
Family and music day July 4 at the Stanley Hotel begins at 2 p.m. with music played by 12 Cents for Marvin, Rodney James and the Blueflames. Details at 970-577-4019. The fireworks display over Lake Estes will begin at 9 p.m. Lake Shore Lodge will offer specials throughout the day on July 4.
