Rodney Dangerfield finally is getting a little respect.

Daily Variety reported Dangerfield’s memoir, “It’s Not Easy Bein’ Me,” may be turned into a feature film. Two of the producers of the Oscar-winning biopic “Ray,” Howard and Karen Baldwin, bought the rights to the book from Dangerfield’s widow, Joan. The book, published four months before Dangerfield’s death at 82 last October, chronicles his unhappy childhood and struggles on the comedy circuit before giving it up for 12 years to sell aluminum siding.

More proof that Tom Cruise is one different dude.

According to several reports, Cruise and fiancée Katie Holmes had dinner in Madrid with Cruise’s ex-girlfriend Penelope Cruz and her parents and sister. “Katie is a really beautiful person,” said Penelope’s father, Eduardo Cruz, quoted by Hello! magazine’s website. The group ate at the posh Casa Lucio restaurant. Cruise and Holmes then headed back to their $3,500-a-night Santo Mauro hotel suite.

George Clooney is a single man again, ladies.

The actor ended his long-distance relationship with British actress Lisa Snowdon two weeks ago, a Hollywood source told the Daily Mirror in London.

In Touch Weekly reports Nicole Richie has persuaded her divorced parents, singer Lionel Richie and his ex-wife Brenda, to walk her down the aisle together at her wedding to DJ Adam Goldstein. No date has been announced.

Sharon Stone denied reports that she left her 5-year-old son in a car while she dined at a London restaurant.

A British newspaper reported Stone’s son, Roan, remained in the care of her chauffeur while she ate at The Ivy restaurant on Sunday. Stone’s rep told the New York Daily News that Stone and her son were separated for no more than two minutes, and that “Roan did come into the restaurant, but Sharon had someone bring him out to the car before her, to avoid paparazzi.”

Meanwhile, the Daily Mail reports Stone, 47, may pose nude again in Playboy magazine, 15 years after her first appearance in the men’s magazine.

Drew Barrymore convinced a 23-year-old girl against having plastic surgery to look like the actress.

According to Life & Style magazine, Barrymore found out the woman’s plan to appear on MTV’s “I Want a Famous Face.” Barrymore called the woman and told her “you are beautiful just as you are, as yourself.”
