No need to keep this under your hat: Once again, bonnets were the accessory of choice for women at the Louis Comfort Tiffany Design Lecture Series and Gala Luncheon.

This popular benefit for the Denver Art Museum’s Department of Architecture, Design & Graphics has been described as Denver’s answer to opening day at Ascot – without the horses. Over a two-day period, it blends luxurious surroundings with fascinating tidbits about historical sites, mostly in the United Kingdom; haute cuisine with haute couture; and an opportunity to support one of the museum world’s most heralded departments.

For the $1,000 Tiffany Patrons, festivities began with an intimate black-tie dinner held on a recent Saturday night at a private home. The grand finale was the always sold-out Gala Luncheon on Monday.

Scott and Virginia Reiman (Hexagon Investments) had the dinner at their Denver home; Joy Johnson and Kristin Richardson chaired the benefit itself. Those wishing to attend only the luncheon paid $175 per seat.

Guests of honor at both the dinner and lunch were Nancy Anschutz and her daughter, Sarah Hunt, who had key roles in getting the benefit off the ground; luncheon speaker, Christopher Woodward, director of the Holburne Museum of Art in Bath, England; and Chad McKeehan, managing director of the presenting sponsor, Tiffany & Co. Cherry Creek.

Ann Benson-Reidy and her mother, Nancy Lake Benson; Kelly Kennedy; Lisa Hearst; Judy Latuda; Marcia Robinson; Arlene Hirschfeld; Jo Frank; Melinda Douglas; Mary Lee Beauregard; Vicki Myhren; Carol Farkas; Kathy Coors; Gail Berliner; Judy Robins ; Charlie Price; Kalleen Malone; and department curator Craig Miller were among those who helped produce the 2005 edition.
