The keynote speaker at the Denver Hispanic Chamber business conference is better known for political acumen than business savvy.
Matthew Dowd, a founding partner of ViaNovo, an international management consulting firm, was chief campaign strategist for the Bush-Cheney team in the 2004 election.
But Dowd, who is a contributing political analyst for Fox News, won’t discuss politics during his presentation at the chamber event, said Stephen Hazel, chamber chief operating officer.
Instead, he will discuss business, Hazel said.
“We are nonpartisan. He has been a successful small-business person, and he has been successful in starting companies,” Hazel said.
Dowd couldn’t be reached for comment.
First Data Corp., the Greenwood Village-based credit-card processing company that is the event’s largest sponsor, was given the opportunity to pick the keynote speaker, and the company picked Dowd, Hazel said.
