Sweaty Betty Blonde

To answer the question, “Yes, it’s hot enough for me.”

What better way to beat the heat than downing a refreshing wheat beer? For the second summer, Boulder Beer Co. has released Sweaty Betty Blonde, its version of a traditional Bavarian-style unfiltered wheat beer.

Sweaty Betty Blonde is the fifth release in the brewery’s Looking Glass series of specialty beers.

Betty, says the brewery, is “flirtatious, soft, supple, firm, luscious and glowing.” Tough billing to live up to.

Betty comes through with flying colors. The usual flavors of clove and banana are present but not overwhelming. This a bigger beer than one would expect from a wheat, at 5.9 percent alcohol (by volume).

Sweaty Betty is available through August in six packs, 22-ounce bottles and kegs in 18 states.
