Where: In front of La Gran Torguga restaurant at the Bahia Principe Talum resort near Cancun, Mexico
Out and About: This past April, the Abells and Kightlingers continued the family tradition of vacationing together. This time the three couples chose Mexico’s Yucatan peninsula as their destination. Everyone enjoyed the warm sun, sand, and ocean. This was especially true for Charlotte, who was “recovering” from yet another long, hard northwestern Pennsylvania winter.
Travel Tip: Choosing an all-inclusive resort meant everyone could pursue their own favorite in-house activities. The only extra was a wonderful bus tour that included lunch at a local restaurant, a tour of an indigenous Mayan village, a swim in an underground river, and the chance to climb the Mayan pyramid at Coba. A final bright spot: it wasn’t necessary to haggle over the day’s bar tab.
