Out and About: If you notice the Sunday theme on the paper displayed, it was “A Dream Trip for Free”. Our trip was the culmination of a rewards trip sponsored by Michelin and Big O Tires. In total we spent a week traveling in Dublin visiting Trinity College, St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Guiness Brewery and shopping. We rode a private train to Limerick then by coach bus to Dromoland Castle where we stayed 3 nights. Day trips to the Cliffs of Moher, the Barren, Blarney Castle (home of the Blarney Stone) and golf at Lahinch and Ballybunion Golf Clubs were all options. Final night a banquet at Knappogue Castle was unforgettable.
Travel Tips: When you shop in Ireland, purchase as much as possible from shops that offer Tax Free purchases. A Luxury Tax (VAT-Value Added Tax) of 21% is on most items except food. This tax is refundable if you save your receipts and submit to customs when leaving the country.
