Where: Keukenhof Gardens, Lisse, Holland, Netherlands
Out and About: This is the gorgeous Keukenhof Garden that is near Amsterdam and is only open six weeks per year during tulip season. There are about seven million tulip bulbs planted here as well as many other beautiful spring flowers. In addition, there are pavilions which feature special plantings, including orchids and anthuriums. We were able to order tulip bulbs to plant in our own gardens and they will be shipped to us in October. This garden was definitely the highlight of our 7-day river cruise trip to Holland.
Travel Tip: Make sure you take your umbrella, heavy wind and rain-proof coat, hat, and sweaters it is colder than we expected in Holland but the spring flowers are definitely worth it!
