Out and about: I attended the 2004 World Engineers Conference, which was held in Shanghai, China. We spent 2 days in Beijing prior to the trip to Shanghai.
Travel tip: Take taxi cabs – they are very inexpensive and very safe to ride in even in the middle of the night. Taxi drivers seldom understand any English so get the destinations written out in Chinese from the front desk clerks and show them the text. Sep/Oct are great months to travel.
