The Colorado Division of Wildlife will conduct a meeting to discuss management of deer in Game Management Units 51, 46, 461, 39 and 391 from 6-8 p.m. July 25. Biologist Aaron Linstrom will make presentations at 6 and 7:30 p.m., allowing for discussion, at the Ken Caryl Ranch House, 7676 S. Continental Divide Road, Littleton.

Raffle extended

A raffle drawing to reduce the medical expenses of Nederland resident Kyle O’Connell has been extended through July 24. O’Connell has an aggressive brain tumor. Denver Post outdoor writer Charlie Meyers is offering a day of fishing as part of a prize that includes a fly rod and reel. The $10 tickets may be obtained through a secure online site: aipcolorado.com/HelpKyle.htm, or by check mailed to Kyle O’Connell Cancer Fund, Box 283, Nederland, CO 80466.

More lynx kittens

In a spring survey involving radio collars, Division of Wildlife biologists found 46 lynx kittens, the highest number discovered in the six years since the animals were reintroduced into Colorado. A similar survey revealed 39 births in 2004. A total of 204 adult lynx have been released during the initiative; officials believe 63 have died.
