The sister of Mariah Carey has been arrested and charged with prostitution, the New York Post reported.

It is the second arrest in the past 10 weeks for Alison Carey Scott, 44, a longtime drug addict and HIV-infected mother of four. Friends have tried to reunite the sisters but have been rebuffed by managers of the singer, pictured at right, the Sunday Times of London reported. Scott could be jailed for three months after police in Suffolk County, Long Island, hired a yacht for a “sting” operation. Police said Scott was contacted through a website, invited to a marina and arrested after she offered to have sex for $250.

Call it the battle of sequins and chandeliers.

Robin Williams and Dustin Hoffman are vying to play Liberace in the new biopic based on the entertainer, who died in 1987, Neil Sean of skynews.com reported. Insiders want Hoffman, but Liberace’s family is leaning to Williams. Williams called Liberace “simply the greatest showman the U.S. has had, and I have to play him.”

Angelina Jolie’s newly adopted baby, Zahara, was released Friday from a New York hospital after spending a week there being treated for dehydration and malnutrition, People magazine reported. Zahara was admitted to the facility shortly after Jolie returned from Ethiopia after adopting the 6-month-old child.

Frankie Muniz, star of the Fox series “Malcolm in the Middle,” has proposed to his girlfriend, People magazine reported. Muniz, 19, met his girlfriend – only her first name, Jamie, was released by the actor’s publicist – when Muniz was filming the horror flick “Stay Alive” in New Orleans.

Jude Law publicly apologized to his fiancée, actress Sienna Miller, expressing his “sincere regret” over an affair with one of his children’s nanny.

“I just want to say I am deeply ashamed and upset that I’ve hurt Sienna and the people most close to us,” the 32-year-old actor said in a statement Monday to the British Press Association.

The nanny was identified as Daisy Wright, 26. Law divorced fashion designer-actress Sadie Frost in October 2003 after a six-year marriage and three children.

Hot sales of “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” have forced publisher Scholastic Children’s Books to increase the copies to be printed from 10.8 million to 13.5 million.

The latest adventures of the magical wizard sold 6.9 million copies in 24 hours, averaging more than 287,500 sales per hour and bringing in more revenues than the weekend’s top two movies combined, the Los Angeles Times reported.
