Mike McCutchen of Valley Country Club won the Eisenhower Pro Am by three shots Monday by shooting a 4-under-par 68 at the Air Force Academy.
Dan O’Shaughnessy of the Fitzsimons Golf Course shot 71 for second place. Four players tied for third at 72.
McCutchen and O’Shaughnessy were members of the teams that tied for first place in the team division at 13-under par.
Area cyclists added to U.S. junior team
USA Cycling announced additional participants for the UCI Junior Road and Track World Championships, which take place Aug. 7-14 in Austria.
Peter Stetina of Boulder, Caleb Fairly of Amarillo, Texas, and Chris Stockburger of Fort Collins received automatic nominations to the long team for the men’s road events.
Automatic nominees to the long team will participate in a two-week European campaign, where the final team for the world championships will be selected.
Brown, Hubbard leading Junior Stroke Play field
Zen Brown of Indian Tree Golf Course shot a 5-under 67 and shared the first-round lead with Mark Hubbard of Pinehurst Country Club in the CGA Junior Stroke Play Championship at Aurora Hills. The field will be cut to 40 players today for a final round Wednesday.
