Who: Harvey Harrington, Sharon Klump, Kathy Harrington and Phil Klump; The Harringtons are from Greeley, Colorado and the Klumps are from Genesee, Colorado

Where: We are standing in the middle of the Kriskindlemarket in the center of Freiberg, Germany

Out and about: We traveled through southern Germany in late November and early December to experience the famous German Holiday of Kriskindlemarket (Christ Child Market) in which traditional hand made Christmas objects, decorations and ornaments are sold in stalls along with wonderful sausages, beer and mulled wine. We traveled from Nurnberg (the largest market) to Freiberg. Our favorite place was Rotenberg Ob Der Tauber, a magical fairy tale medieval walled town with wonderful small hotels and restaurants. Every town and village has a unique market, and the people were warm and friendly.

Travel tip: The weather was wet and chilly, so dress warmly! Rotenberg Ob Der Tauber is best reached by rental car.
