Golden – An inmate serving time for menacing and drug abuse has escaped from the minimum-security Camp George West facility, corrections officials said.
Authorities confirmed late Wednesday night that David Banes, 34, walked away. He entered the facility on Dec. 15 on a three-year sentence for menacing and a one-year sentence for drug abuse out of Jefferson County. His mandatory parole date was May 2008.
Banes was described as a white male, 5’11”, with brown hair and brown eyes. The Department of Corrections said he should be considered dangerous.
A $2,500 reward was being offered for information leading to his arrest.
