Who: Billy and Winona Musgrove of Denver, Colorado

Where; Dettifoss, Europe’s most powerful waterfall and Iceland’s “Niagara”.

Out and about: Iceland is an interesting country. We were there in September when they were having the sheep round-up. There are lots of migrating birds but they are gone in September. The waterfalls are everywhere and each is different. It is hard to get used to not seeing any trees. The wind blows most of the time and the sky is gloomy. The land is all a volcanic. There are hundreds of Icelandic horses that are semi wild. Hallgrimskirkja is the country’s largest church located in the capital of Reykjavik, a beautiful sight.

Travel tip: Do not go in September as the weather is wet, windy and cloudy. July or August would be a better choice. Iceland captures their underground hot water and makes good use of it. There are geysers that remind you of Yellowstone park’s “Old Faithful.”
