Getting your player ready...

Who: Robert and Nancy Morton of Aurora, Colorado

Where: On an adventurous brown water rafting trip on a 10 foot tidal bore, in Shubenacadie, Nova Scotia.

Out and about: Basically a tidal bore is a natural phenomenon which is seen in very few parts of the world. The channel of the bay narrows like a funnel, the entire force of the tide is concentrated into the narrowed conduit to produce a 10-foot tidal wave with very rough rapids which we navigated in a 20 ft. Zodiac. Now I’d like to try our own white water rafting for comparison.

Travel tip: Wear old clothes, get there at least one hour prior to the departure. Included in the river run is a tasty steak BBQ. For more information you can contact them at www.tidalborerafting.com.
