The metro area was just designated the best place in the U.S. for singles last week by Forbes magazine, and appropriately, we have plenty of sexy events for the singles scene this weekend. From sassy to classy, there’s something for all tastes if you just know where to look.

Saturday night the Luna Hotel is where you’ll find the not-so-subtly named “Lust” party. A group of 10 party boys and girls are co-hosting the event, and they aim to keep the demographics split evenly between men and women. An early reception, for the gals only, includes a lingerie and passion party, with a model search later in the evening – apparently that’s plenty enough to entice the men to join the soiree.

Doors open at 7 p.m. for women, 9 p.m. for the gents, $10, 1612 Wazee St.

303 Mag party channels Rio at Rise

Tonight at Rise Nightclub, samba rhythms rule the night at the one-year anniversary party for 303 Magazine. They’ll channel the sultry heat of Rio de Janeiro with a Carnival theme, complete with a Brazilian buffet and body-painted dancers with colorful headdresses working the dance floor for special performances. Break out your sexiest summertime ensemble and plan to sip on exotic cocktails; 9 p.m., $10, 1909 Blake St.

Join Spy Bar’s “Secret Society”

On Sunday nights, “Secret Society” gathers at the Spy Bar (500 16th St.), where the smooth sounds of soul and R&B help you wind down the weekend. The newish Spy Bar is the latest lounge to open in the Denver Pavilions, and so far the dim lighting and sexy spy vibe are attracting an eclectic, chilled-out crowd. This Sunday they’ll host a special event for Leos, so bring the birthday boys and girls by for special treatment.

Where singles wine and dine

Wine bars aren’t necessarily known to be havens for the swingin’ singles scene, but the Paris Wine Bar (1549 Platte St.) is trying to mix things up a bit. They offer more than 40 wines by the glass, a small wine-friendly menu, and a warm, neighborly atmosphere. To keep things interesting, they host regular wine tastings and other events throughout the week. The best nights for singles, however, are Wednesdays for “Girls Night Out,” and on Saturdays when DJs take over the small space and the vibe goes from quiet neighborhood hangout to a happening downtown lounge.

’80s futurism and “Thunderdome”

If you prefer a bit more more visual and intellectual stimulation than most bars can provide, hit the Andenken Gallery this weekend for Way Beyond Thunderdome, a study in ’80s futurism. They’ll open doors early for a 7 p.m. showing of “Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome” before hitting the dome inside the gallery for bouts against the roller-skating dames of Rocky Mountain Rollergirls. This is an all-ages event, so look for coffee and soda for the younger crowd, cocktails sporting names like Nuclear Fallout and Acid Rain for the over-21 participants, and plenty of beer and pizza. DJs Alisha and Sid Pink, and sixtwentysix will lend their commentary and good musical taste to the party. 6 p.m., $7, 2110 Market St.
