Who: Michael Marcus and John Culshaw of Denver, Colorado
Where: All England Lawn Tennis Club (home of the Wimbledon Championships), London, UK.
Out and about: We visited London in November to celebrate John’s 40th birthday. One of our must-see stops was the home of the Wimbledon Championships. Even if you are unable to participate in one of the guided tours (scheduled at various time throughout the year), a visit to the Museum is worthwhile for any tennis fan. The Museum is filled with tennis memorabilia and traces the history of the game. There’s a great view of historic Centre Court right within the museum.
Travel tip: Wimbledon is a short trip from central London on the Underground (Tube). Take the District Line to the Southfields stop and the Wimbledon museum and grounds are a just short bus ride away. Ask for help at the Southfields Tube station. Make sure to allow time to explore the Southfields community too. There are some great restaurants and shopping only steps from the Tube stop.
