Fishing isn’t always just tulips and petunias. Occasionally, as we discover with things such as mud snails and tubifex worms, a few weeds creep into the garden.

For Elizabeth Gillespie, resource stewardship coordinator with Colorado State Parks, the weeds are real – nasty creepers that disrupt the aquatic food chain and crowd spawning areas.

The topic of her Tuesday presentation to the Colorado Women FlyFishers, Anglers and the Environment, will suggest ways to keep this unwanted vegetation from spreading.

The 7:30 p.m. meeting will be at Piccolo’s Restaurant, 3563 S. Monaco Parkway, phone 303-437-5490.
