Dread cleaning the grill? This disposes of that chore
If cleaning the grill grate is not your favorite part of outdoor cooking, a new product has come to the rescue. New from CleanBBQ are aluminum disposable grill liners that fit on grill grates, eliminating the need for cleaning the grates before or after grilling. The liner allows the grill flavor to reach the meat and lets the fat drip off. The liners are intended for one-time use only and are made of heavy-duty foil, like disposable foil pans. They’re sold at Home Depot and at cleanbbq.com. A pack of 20 is $17.95.

Chefs do fab upgrades on drab kitchens
Thinking about updating the old Formica? This summer, chefs Emeril Lagasse, Bobby Flay, Alton Brown and Paula Deen help four Food Network viewers change their kitchens from drab to fab on “All-Star Kitchen Makeover,” every Saturday at 7 p.m. in August. Each chef will do whatever it takes to turn some challenging cooking spaces into gorgeous, functional masterpieces: from Emeril’s kicked-up kitchen at The Children’s Storefront School in Harlem to Flay’s one-of-a-kind outdoor grilling oasis in Las Vegas. FoodNetwork.com will feature interactive virtual tours of each kitchen, Q&As with the chefs in the show, and behind-the-scenes looks.
