Prince Charles has allowed his son Prince William and his girlfriend, Kate Middleton, to live together out at Clarence House, infuriating British religious leaders.
William and Middleton, both 23, had planned to move into their own residence in London, but Charles invited them to stay at the royal residence, the Daily Express reported.
A Los Angeles County sheriff’s detective will investigate the BB-gun shooting of a photographer who was staking out Britney Spears over the weekend.
The photographer, Brad Diaz, was shot in the leg while standing in the street 150 feet to 200 feet from a home where Spears was believed to be attending a baby shower in her honor, authorities said. Diaz, hospitalized and released several hours later, claimed the BB came from the direction of the home. Spears’ bodyguards told authorities they weren’t involved in the incident.
According to a contact music.com report, Diaz plans to sue Spears and her bodyguards. “I am planning to press charges,” Diaz was quoted by the website. “On a scale of 1 to 10 the pain from the wound is 7.”
Russell Crowe and the New York hotel clerk he allegedly assaulted with a telephone may be near a settlement, the New York Daily News reported.
Lawyers for Crowe and Nestor “Josh” Estrada, the clerk who was hit by a phone in the lobby of SoHo’s trendy Mercer Hotel on June 6, hope to reach an agreement before the actor’s Sept. 14 court appearance on charges of assault and possession of a weapon (the telephone). If Estrada refuses to testify, the Manhattan district attorney’s office likely will drop the criminal charges against Crowe.
Marion “Suge” Knight pleaded no contest on Friday to driving without insurance and making an illegal U-turn and was fined $691. The Death Row Records founder was arrested in February and spent a week in jail after San Bernardino County (Calif.) sheriff’s deputies pulled him over and allegedly found marijuana in his truck.
British rocker Pete Doherty was arrested Wednesday for allegdly assaulting reporter Laurie Hanna. A reporter for the Daily Mirror in London, Hanna said Doherty punched him in the eye after he asked the boyfriend of model Kate Moss for an interview. Doherty, 26, was released on bail and faces a trial for assault later this month.
Rosie O’Donnell will join Harvey Fierstein in the Broadway revival of the musical “Fiddler on the Roof” on Sept. 20, the show’s producers said Monday. Fierstein plays Tevye the milkman, and O’Donnell will play his wife, Golde.
Tom Mesereau, defense attorney for Michael Jackson during his child molestation case, claims the media did a lousy job and the jury did a good job during his client’s trial.
“I truly believe the media thought they could spin their way to a verdict,” Mesereau told more than 350 people at the South Carolina Trial Lawyers Association’s annual conference Saturday. “We lost the battle of spin, but we won the battle in the courtroom.”
