Wednesday, August 10

It’s an animated affair.

Animation is the difference between life and death.
And, on a less morbid note, you can develop your animating interests tonight at Pod & Capsule’s continuing workshop program.

Tonight features the direction of Denver’s leading “cartoonologist” T. Motley, who will guide Cartooning 101 for those who have an interest in turning lines into life.
Email your reservation, or call for more info!

What: Cartooning 101

Where: Pod & Capsule, 554 Santa Fe, 6 p.m.

Cost: $25 + small materials fee

More info: pod1@qwest.net, 303-623-3640

Looking for a first date idea?

Take your party to a movie under the stars!
Denver Outdoor Cinema has found a way to make great use of the old Theater at Elitch Gardens. Once deemed “one of the cradles of American drama” by Cecil B. DeMille, this theater retains an enchantingly reminiscent feel.
Perfect for lagging conversation on your first date (you really should have a list of things in your head to use as conversation sparks when you come to a lull. Didn’t your mama ever teach you that? …No?).

What: Cinema Under the Stars

Where: 38th & Tennyson, gates at 8 p.m.

If those don’t seem to tickle your fancy, try combining animation AND stars!

Stargazing at it’s finest!

There’s a meteor shower tonight, and naturalist Steve Ipsen will be guiding and narrating the Perseid Meteor Shower this evening, which will be most visible on a night like tonight.
Stars have their own lives.

We’re just details.

Reservations required.

What: Stargazing at Castlewood Canyon

Where: Meet at the Canyon Point Parking Lot, 8:30 p.m.
