More than 3,000 manufacturers and buyers of exercise equipment will be in Denver this week for the Health and Fitness Business Expo and Conference.
The expo begins today and runs through Saturday at the Colorado Convention Center. It will showcase 200 brands of the latest in fitness technology and equipment.
“The trade show is a way of connecting buyers with manufacturers,” said Mike May, public relations manager for the event.
In addition to the expo, educational seminars will be held to help manufacturers enhance their marketing skills, May said.
Although the three-day event is not open to the public, it is expected to have an economic impact of $4.8 million, according to the Denver Metro Visitors and Convention Bureau.
This is the fifth consecutive year the Health and Fitness Business Expo is in Denver. May praised the newly expanded convention center, calling it a “fantastic facility.”
“When we were at the convention center (before) it was under construction,” he said. “It served its purpose before, but it’s complete now, and we’re happy to be there.”
Before Denver, the showcase was in Vail. May said Colorado was chosen to host the annual event due to its geographic location and activities available for visitors.
