Amerimar Realty has sold a downtown city block bounded by Arapahoe, Curtis, 18th and 19th streets that includes an office building, apartment building and athletic club.

Texas-based Granite Properties made its first Denver investment with the purchase of the 555,000-square-foot Denver Plaza Place Tower at 1099 18th St. The 31-story building, which is 92 percent occupied, includes a three-level underground garage with parking for 836 vehicles.

“We are delighted to have completed our first acquisition in Denver and hope this is only the beginning of a significant Granite presence in Denver,” president Michael Dardick said.

The remainder of the block, which includes The Apartments at Denver Place and the Athletic Club at Denver Place, was purchased in a simultaneous closing with BWAB Real Estate Ventures.

The sales prices for the properties were not disclosed.

Granite Properties, a real-estate investment, management and development company, opened a Denver office in April. The company’s portfolio includes more than 8 million square feet of office, industrial and retail space.

The company’s Denver office is headed by Stephanie Lawrence.
