Commission meeting

The Colorado Wildlife Commission will conduct a meeting of some import Thursday and Friday at the Lamar Elks Club, 28157 U.S. 287. The policy-making body Thursday will continue its discussion of adjustments to the big licensing process, including the ratio of resident and nonresident draw licenses, preference point allocation and landowner preference tags.

It also will establish fishing regulations for the period 2006-2010, implement a fee bill that includes a newly created habitat stamp and make decisions regarding hunting at Sugarloaf Mountain west of Boulder and Horsethief Canyon State Wildlife Area. The public may comment on any of these issues at sessions that begin at 8:30 a.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. Friday. An agenda is posted on the Division of Wildlife web page: www.wildlife.state.co.us.

Clinic canceled

A warmwater fishing seminar scheduled Friday in Limon has been canceled. Division of Wildlife biologist Gary Dowler, who was to have conducted the class, has traveled to the Gulf Coast to assist in hurricane recovery efforts.
