Aurora police are investigating an attempted burglary that may be linked to a series of sex attacks in Denver, Aurora and Arapahoe County.
At 5:45 a.m. Saturday, a man entered through the patio door of a residence on the 9700 block of East Mexico Avenue.
The victim screamed upon seeing the man, who ran away. She described him as African-American, bald, clad in black shorts and a black shirt with white lettering or designs, with a dark stocking mask over his face.
Other witnesses nearby saw a man who matched the victim’s description, pulling a stocking mask from his head as he ran.
Aurora police suspect the man is the same individual responsible for a pattern of sexual assaults that the Colorado Bureau of Investigation has linked through DNA analysis.
