Corn Products International Inc.: $18.05, down $3.21 (15.1 percent): Shares of the food processor fell Thursday after it cut its earnings forecast and said it may shut its Canadian factories because Canada may introduce anti-dumping tariffs on U.S. corn. The Westchester, Ill., company expects 2005 earnings of $1.16 to $1.22 per share, below the earlier forecast of $1.34 to $1.44. The Canadian government said Sept. 16 it was launching an investigation into alleged dumping and subsidizing of grain corn by the United States. The company expressed its disappointment Thursday and said it intends to pursue all regulatory and other measures available to counter Canada’s decision.
