REDUCE OFFENSIVE MISCUES
Stall-warts
The Broncos moved the ball against the Chargers but made numerous mistakes, including two red-zone turnovers, a penalty that nullified a touchdown and a stalled drive in San Diego territory. Because Kansas City is too good on both sides of the ball, Denver can’t continue to sputter on offense. The Broncos should win this home game, but won’t do so if they continue with their familiar miscues.

DOMINANT DEFENSE
Pressuring Green key
The Broncos’ defense was simply awesome in the second half against the Chargers. Denver held them to 41 yards and 0-for-6 on third-down conversions in the half. The Broncos – who had four sacks in the second half against the Chargers – need to pressure quarterback Trent Green and
contain the running game of Priest Holmes and Larry Johnson.

NO HALL PASS
Sauerbrun holds key
Dante Hall has decimated Denver. The Broncos can’t let him return a touchdown against them for the third consecutive season. New punter Todd Sauerbrun was brought in to give Denver’s special teams an attitude and to help neutralize Hall. The Broncos’ special teams have slowly improved. If they aren’t strong Monday night, Hall could be the difference for the Chiefs again.
