Greenwood Village – Consider Wyoming a leg up on some of the recruiting competition.
The Cowboys landed the biggest schoolboy leg in Colorado last week. It belongs to Aric Goodman of Cherry Creek, who orally committed to Wyoming coach Joe Glenn.
Goodman said all he wanted on the next level is just north of Colorado.
“I really loved the coaching staff, it’s a real good school and I just feel comfortable about it,” he said.
He will make it official with the Cowboys on national signing day, Feb. 1.
With Wyoming’s place-kicking chores handled by seniors, Goodman will have an immediate chance to have an impact. He also may bid to be the Cowboys’ punter.
Having spent his first two years at Smoky Hill in Aurora, Goodman transferred to the Bruins and was named to The Denver Post All-Colorado team in 2004. The All-America candidate, who also is a standout soccer player, has 34 career field goals.
