Getting your player ready...
Aaron Cook (6-1, 3.23 ERA) doesn’t make starts, he makes history. He will attempt to extend his record of seven consecutive winning decisions. After his last start, manager Clint Hurdle referred to him as the staff ace, a heady accomplishment for a pitcher who almost died on the mound 13 months ago. Like Cook, Tim Hudson (13-9, 3.48) relies on a nasty sinker. The Rockies clobbered him for seven runs on May 9 at Coors Field. Left-handers have tagged Hudson at a .287 clip this season, including a 7-for-8 effort by Aaron Miles, Todd Helton and Brad Hawpe.
