Can you ban rhetoric?
The Tattered Cover is celebrating 23 years of celebrating banned books.
In an effort to remind Americans not to take reading, one of our most precious democratic freedoms, for granted, the Tattered Cover is also facilitating their 5th annual essay contest for teens, and will be passing out complimentary “I read banned books” bookmarks (while supplies last), and other cool “I read banned books” merchandise.
Read. And read what they don’t want you to read.

You like science, right?
No, I mean l-i-k-e science.
If you often find yourself in a coffee house for good conversation, but more often than not find yourself boring those around you as you attempt to describe the molecular composition of caffeine, Cafe Scientifique Colorado might be for you!
A series of lectures about all things science held at Wynkoop Brewery (formatted more like your coffee house chats), tonight brings “Yeast and Humans in Civilization  The science behind a long-standing fermented relationship” presented by Robert A. Sclafani, Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Genetics from the University of Colorado Medical School.
It’ll be like the intellectual sit-ins of the days of yore, but with separate tabs and microbrews.
What: Cafe Scientifique Colorado
Where: Wynkoop Brewery, 1638 18th Street, 6:30 p.m.
