Los Cabos – The Los Cabos Tequila and Mariachi Festival happens Oct. 17-19 (bajatours.com, 800-237-6225). Californians are especially fond of these neighboring resort towns along the picturesque coastline where the Pacific Ocean meets the Sea of Cortez.

San Jose del Cabo is preferred by tourists seeking solitude. Cabo San Lucas and its Playa Del Mayano boast an abundance of American restuarants and round-the-clock beach parties. Cabo San Lucas is also home to rock star Sammy Hagar’s Cabo Wabo Cantina (cabowabo.com, 624-143-
