Surfing for home contractors

Amy Ballinger of Aurora has launched a website that enables homeowners to search for home-improvement and remodeling contractors online. At Bizzibid.com, people searching for a contractor enter their ZIP code, select a category and review the list of contractors that pops up. Then, they can submit project information to the contractors of their choice. Within three days, the contractors who receive the information will respond with an estimate or a request to obtain more information about the project, which can include everything from painting and plumbing to roofing and security, Ballinger says.
