HOW’DYOUKNOW?
Two weeks ago: “Free Air” sign in Manzanola
The winner: Fowler Elementary School reading teacher Ruth Schlegel
The “Free Air” sign is located in Manzanola, at the former Co-op site. I see it when I go to Bauserman’s Farm Market across the street for Rocky Ford canteloupes or chocolate-covered almonds. They have these old-fashioned bins full of candy. It’s kind of like an old general store. You can buy almost anything there.
Last week: Chrome bumper bench by sculptor Sean Guerrero, one of three on Elk Avenue in Crested Butte
The winner: Carol Haller
of Centennial
When I saw the bumper bench from Crested Butte in the Sunday paper, I told Meaghan, my 12-year-old daughter, “I know where this is, and we have a picture of it!” I went to the photo album and found the picture right away. The picture is from 1995 and shows me and my daughter Meaghan Shaha, age 2. I showed the picture to Meaghan, who said, “Mom, you still own those clothes.” Don’t you think I deserve the gas card?
