Stitching together brilliance: needlework at the DPL
10 A.M.-5 P.M. | An exhibit showcasing more than 250 pieces of needlework opens today in the Vida Ellison Gallery at the Denver Central Public Library, 10 W. 14th Ave. Parkway. The art show, on display through Oct. 21, celebrates the 40th anniversary of the founding of the Colorado chapter of The Embroiderers’ Guild of America Inc.

Living and dying with bears: See “Grizzly Man” in Aspen
7:30 p.m. | ASPEN The Wheeler Film Society presents three nights of screenings of “The Grizzly Man” at the Wheeler Opera House, 320 E. Hyman Ave. It’s the story of Timothy Treadwell, who lived among grizzlies in Alaska for 14 seasons until he and his girlfriend were killed by a grizzly.
