Stanford, Calif. – Kellen Clemens threw for 393 yards and three touchdowns, and Oregon beat Stanford 44-20 on Saturday to get coach Mike Bellotti his 50th Pac-10 win.
Clemens, who played less than three quarters, became the fourth Oregon quarterback to surpass 7,000 total offensive yards for his career as the Ducks (4-1, 1-1) rebounded from last week’s loss to top-ranked USC.
Trent Edwards threw for 156 yards and a touchdown for Stanford (1-2, 0-1).
OREGON STATE 44, WASHINGTON STATE 33: Mike Hass caught seven passes for 161 yards and a go-ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter to lead the Beavers (3-2, 1-1) over the Cougars (3-1, 0-2) in Corvallis, Ore.
Washington State quarterback Alex Brink was 31-of-59 for 531 yards and a touchdown, but was intercepted four times.
Big Ten
Ed Hinkel scored with an acrobatic move at the end of a reverse and caught one of Drew Tate’s two touchdown passes, leading host Iowa (3-2, 1-1) to a 35-7 win over Illinois (2-3, 0-2).
Damian Sims added a 66-yard touchdown run for Iowa, which set a school record with its 21st straight victory at home.
SEC
Brandon Cox threw for 245 yards and a touchdown, and Auburn (4-1, 2-0) scored on five of its first seven possessions in a 48-7 win over visiting South Carolina (2-3, 0-3). Steve Spurrier, the former coach at Florida, has lost three straight SEC games for the first time in his career.
ACC
Cory Randolph threw a 6-yard touchdown pass to Kevin Marion with 33 seconds left and host Wake Forest (2-3, 1-1) rallied to hand Clemson (2-3, 1-3) another heartbreaking loss, 31-27.
