Silvia Johnson, the so called “Cool Mom” was transported from a hospital to the Jefferson County Detention Facility Friday after being involved in a serious car accident in which an underage teen was driving.
Johnson was served with an arrest warrant and her bond was raised to $550,000 Thursday. Her first court appearance is scheduled for Tuesday.
Johnson, 41, was seriously injured in a car wreck on September 25. The Colorado State Patrol says Johnson was sitting in the back seat when the 14-year-old driver lost control of an SUV and flipped it about 35 miles south of Denver along I-25.
The crash injured not only Johnson, but three other children, including two of her own. Because of confidentiality issues, we do not have specifics on the children’s injuries, but CSP says they each had “serious injuries.”
The crash happened the day before Johnson was to be sentenced on sex assault charges in Jefferson County. She faces up to 58 years in prison on those charges.
Earlier this year Johnson admitted to having sex with teenage boys, often while they attended parties at her house. Those parties, according to investigators, included alcohol and drugs. She told investigators she held the parties so she could appear cool in front of her daughters.
The parties occurred between 2003 and 2004.
