Silvia Johnson, 41, who pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting two teenage boys, is being held in the Jefferson County Jail for violating conditions of her release on bond in the case.

Johnson told an investigator she got drunk with the boys and had sex with them because she wanted to be a “cool mom.”

Johnson was arrested Thursday at a metro area hospital where she was recovering from surgery and injuries suffered in a Sept. 25 single-vehicle wreck. A 14-year-old was driving the 2005 Jeep Liberty that crashed on Interstate 25 near Castle Rock.

Johnson was the only adult in the Jeep, which also carried another 14-year-old girl, her daughter, and two boys, a 12-year-old and her son, 11. Only the driver, who was wearing a seat belt, escaped serious injury.

Johnson missed her Sept. 26 sentencing in the sex-assault case because of the Jeep wreck. Her bond in that case was revoked, in part because she was violating a protective order by being with her children.

A new bond was set at $550,000. She is scheduled to appear in Jefferson County court Tuesday.

The wreck is still under investigation by the Colorado State Patrol, and Johnson could face new charges in that case, including multiple counts of child abuse.

She faces up to 58 years in prison in the sex-assault case, which includes nine counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
