Colorado State guard Marquie Cook has been permanently dismissed from the team, Rams basketball coach Dale Layer said Friday.
“Unfortunately, things did not work out as I had hoped,” Layer said. “I felt it was in the best interests of our basketball program to make this decision at this time. I wish Marquie the best of luck in his future endeavors.”
Colorado Eagles get former Toledo player
The Colorado Eagles of the Central Hockey League signed forward Nick Parillo, a 5-foot-9, 180-pound native of New York. Parillo played with the Toledo Storm of the East Coast Hockey League for most of the past three seasons.
Red Raiders spoil Buffs’ trip to Texas
Texas Tech’s volleyball team edged Colorado in Lubbock, Texas, on Saturday in five games, 30-28, 30-25, 19-30, 26-30, 16-14. The Buffaloes’ Allie Griffin led all attackers with 27 kills.
California State-East Bay’s volleyball team beat Colorado College in three games to win the Colorado College Classic in Colorado Springs. East Bay topped the Tigers 30-27, 30-23, 30-17 in the title match and finished the tournament 4-0. Colorado College finished 2-2.
Regis tops Montana State-Billings in soccer
Cody Berg scored in the 74th minute as Regis defeated host Montana State-Billings 1-0 in soccer.
It was Berg’s fourth goal of the season. Matt Westerlund assisted on the goal.
