Aurora – Aurora police last week made another arrest in the continuing investigation into the July 4, 2004, killing of a man at Lowry Park that may be connected to a 2005 double homicide in which a witness to that shooting was killed.

On Wednesday, police arrested Davinia Ilene Jackson, 26, on suspicion of being an accessory to murder, alleging that she hid the getaway car from the 2004 shooting, which killed Gregory Vann and injured two others.

Jackson, who police say also goes by the last name of Ray, is being held on $250,000 bail at the Arapahoe County jail. She is the sister-in-law of Robert Keith Ray, one of the men charged with the killing. Police are still looking for Sir Mario Owens, who they believe is the other shooter in that case.

Witnesses to Vann’s killing say two men jumped out of a gold-colored Chevy Suburban and shot Vann, Javad Marshall- Fields and Elvin Bell before speeding from the park. Marshall-Fields and Bell survived.

Ray, 20, was arrested in 2004 and charged with being an accessory to the crime. Police allege he drove the getaway car. Marshall-Fields was the witness who had positively identified Ray as the driver.

Authorities were ready to bring the case to trial in late June.

On June 20, Marshall-Fields was shot to death along with his girlfriend, Vivian Wolfe, when their car was ambushed on an Aurora street.

Police say Marshall-Fields had been threatened the night before the slaying by a man they believe is Parish Carter, 23, who is in jail on charges of witness intimidation. He has a hearing set for Wednesday.

No one has been arrested in the June 20 double homicide.

Jackson had her first appearance in court Friday and is scheduled for a second hearing Thursday morning.
