Playing “the friend card” was what it took to get Joyce Zeff to agree to be honored at the 2005 Gala for Giving hosted by Denver chapter of Hadassah. Even though she is one of the city’s most generous philanthropists, it took convincing by dinner co-chair Aggie Kuperman.

“Joyce, like her late husband, Kal, isn’t one to seek out the spotlight,” Kuperman said. “I had to do a lot of talking to win her over.” When Kuperman had a business obligation overseas and was unable to attend the function, co-chair Deborah Zeitlin held down the fort with chapter president Debi Tepper.

Zeff is active in numerous local charities, including Jewish Family Service and The Gathering Place. Daughters Diana Anderson and Dana Zeff accompanied her to the gala at the Donald R. Seawell Grand Ballroom. Lannie Garrett provided entertainment. Proceeds went to Hadassah’s Youth At Risk programs.
