’04 voter fraud still being investigated

Two weeks before the Nov. 1 election, the Denver district attorney’s office is still trying to finish investigating 140 alleged voter fraud cases from last year’s presidential election. Most of the problems stemmed from felons voting and people casting multiple ballots.

The Denver Election Commission anticipates some problems may persist this year with provisional ballots cast by those not eligible to vote, or by those who have already voted absentee.

Beauprez’s governor run has Tancredo nod

Republican gubernatorial candidate Congressman Bob Beauprez on Tuesday was endorsed by fellow Colorado Congressman Tom Tancredo. Both men share the view “that meaningful immigration reform must be a top priority for Colorado’s next governor,” according to a statement from the Beauprez campaign.

Tancredo said he supported Beauprez’s committing to oppose any “sanctuary city” status in Colorado and Beauprez’s backing of a state measure prohibiting undocumented immigrants from receiving government services and benefits.
