French Polynesia
Who: Glenn and Rachel Levi of Littleton
Where: Moorea – outside the over-the-water bungalows
Best meal: Le Mahogany in Cook’s Bay, and don’t forget to buy the freshly baked bread at the local markets around 11 a.m.
Best deal: Take the ferry to Moorea from Tahiti instead of flying. Better costs, wonderful views, fresh sea air, and you may see dolphins or whales.
Best time to go: Anytime is a good time in Moorea, but the weather in September was perfect. Mid-80s in the day, low 70s in the evening, and the ocean water was not only crystal-clear, but the temperature was just right.
Don’t leave home without: Pants, if you like to hike. Mount Rotui’s trail is not maintained very well and covered in needle-like bushes. But the views are worth the hike!
