Durango Mountain Resort sold 16 townhomes for $14 million in less than four hours Saturday, the most successful single-day sales event in the resort’s history.

The units, phase one of the slopeside Alpenglow Townhomes, started in price at $600,000.

“We had a good weekend,” said Cathy Craig, owner of Durango Mountain Realty. “Prices are still very reasonable here for resort properties, particularly for a ski-in, ski-out property like this one. Which means there is more room for appreciation.”

Forty-three participants put down $1,000 refundable deposits to participate in the event. Winners were required to add $9,000 on Saturday.

The three- and four-bedroom Alpenglow Townhomes are located off the Columbine Beginner Area. Construction is scheduled to be completed next fall.

The townhomes are a part of the resort’s 25-year master plan to build five new villages, which will include condos, townhomes and single-family residences, along with a new day lodge.
