Lawrence Welk organist pipes up for Paramount anniversary

2 P.M. | Bob Ralston from the Lawrence Welk TV show plays the second of two pipe-

organ concerts for the Paramount Theater’s 75th anniversary. Ralston will perform on the Wurlitzer theater pipe organ that was installed Aug. 29, 1930. The Paramount, 1621 Glenarm Place, is the only theater west of St. Louis with a four-manual (four keyboards), 20-rank (20 sets of sounding pipes) organ still in flawless condition that remains in the theater for which it was designed. Lemony Snicket signs his “Unfortunate” books

6 P.M. | The Tattered Cover Book Store presents Lemony Snicket signing copies of his many books included in the popular “A Series of Unfortunate Events” series at the Temple Events Center Uptown, 1695 Pearl St. Snicket will also discuss and sign the upcoming “Book the Twelfth.” Tickets are $13 and include a copy of the new book.
