No. 1 Metro rallies to beat No. 20 Regis
The Metro State women’s soccer team, ranked No. 1 in Division II, got goals from Kylee Hanavan, Amy Leichliter and Kira Sharp to erase a 1-0 deficit and beat No. 20 Regis 3-2 at Regis Field. It was the 41st consecutive win for the Roadrunners (18-0, 12-0 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference). Kate Murphy tallied her 25th goal of the season for the Rangers (14-4, 8-4).
The Regis men (8-5-3, 5-4-2 RMAC) beat Metro State (12-6-1, 7-4) 2-1 in double overtime when Metro defenders inadvertently knocked the ball into their own net.
CU volleyball wins fourth straight
The University of Colorado volleyball team (10-7, 6-6 Big 12) got 14 kills from Allie Griffin in a 3-0 (30-27, 30-21, 31-29) win over Iowa State (13-10, 6-6) in Boulder.
