Two attorneys, a chiropractor and a real estate broker are among tonight’s honorees at the ninth annual Gay and Lesbian Business Awards.

The awards, which recognize individuals and companies that contribute to the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered (GLBT) community and Colorado in general, will be held at 6 p.m. at the Marriott Denver City Center downtown.

The Colorado Business Council, the statewide GLBT chamber of commerce founded in 1992, has sponsored the awards since their inception.

President Mark Renn noted the increasing popularity of the dinner as a positive sign.

“We’ve already sold 240 tickets, compared to just 160 last year,” Renn said.

Events include a silent auction, dinner and keynote speech by Colorado native Donna Red Wing, a nationally known activist, editor of Alliance Magazine and co-founder of the National Anti-Violence Network.
